Suddenly, on Monday March 29th, 2010, at the age of 81. Beloved husband of Mara Jindra, father of Sean (Barb), Timothy (Karol), Tara Hyland-Russell (Rick) and Meghan McIntosh (Grant). He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Rachael, Jennifer, Christopher, Shannon, Samantha, Anna, Peter and Sarah, and great-grandchildren Annika and Rylie and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Eva and Valdis in Australia. Pre-deceased by his brother Bill, sister Barbara and step-son Michael. John will also be greatly missed by close friends Catherine, Ed, Calvin, Mike and Lois.
John was a well known personality in the motor racing community for many years, a founding member of the Montreal Sports Car Club, past president of the Canadian Ski Patrol, and most recently, a volunteer driver for the Canadian Red Cross, and a regular at the Jitterbug.
Family and friends will be received at the KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown on Wednesday March 31, from 6-9pm. Funeral service to take place at GRACE ANGLICAN CHURCH, 157 Mill St N, Waterdown on Thursday April 1st, at 3pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Good Shepherd Centres (Hamilton) or to the Salvation Army.
