The Lord in His infinite mercy took unto Himself Henk Jelsma on March 16, 2010 in his 83rd year. Much loved husband of Anna Jelsma (nee Schaaf), dear father of Henry Jelsma, Margaret and Koos Torenvliet, Luke and Jill Jelsma, Wilma (2005) and Nick Torenvliet, John and Margie Ligtenberg, Tony and Jacquie Jelsma, Mike and Roleane Ligtenberg, Cathy and James Feenstra, Tracy Jelsma, and Nancy and Brian Vandenbos. Loved grandfather of 39 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his first wife Trijntje (1970), his brothers Jan (Geertje), Klaas (Coba), Auke and sister Grietje. Henk is survived by Fred (Ina) Jelsma of Chatham, Ans Niewenhuis of Brampton, Harm (Mien) Jelsma, Anne (Ineke) Jelsma, and Anneke Jelsma all of the Netherlands. The family would like to express their appreciation for the loving care by the staff of Mount Nemo Christian Nursing Home.
Friends may visit with the family at EBENEZER CANADIAN REFORMED CHURCH, 607 Dynes Road, Burlington on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 10 a.m., Reverend Dr. G. Nederveen officiating. Interment to follow at Burlington Memorial Gardens. If so desired, donations to the Parkinson Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
