At Morriston Park Nursing Home on Wednesday January 20, 2010 at the age of 86 years. In her passing, Mary is reunited with her beloved late husband Walter (1996) and her sons Thomas (1960) and Daniel (1988). Mom will be greatly missed by her children Patrick of Port Dover (Roni), Anne Waller of Guelph and Larry of Hamilton. Dearly loved Grandma to Chris (Barb), Aimee and Carly Hunter, all of Brantford, and Ryan (Beth) and Michael Waller of Guelph. Proud great-grandmother of Brittany, Micheal, Chase, Aiden, Noah, Greta and Mae. Mary is survived by her loving brothers Robert (Adele) Walsh of Grimsby and Leo (Joan) Walsh of Waubaushene and her sisters-in-law Phyllis Walsh of Grimsby and Marty Walsh of Hamilton. She was predeceased by her dear brothers Jim, Frank and Larry Walsh and her beloved only sister, Norah Brennan. Also survived by her sisters-in-law Maxine Hunter of Burlington, Eileen Kelly of Hamilton and Theresa (Frank) Jamieson of Freelton. Aunt Mary is fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.
Mary was born in Hamilton on July 11, 1923 to James and Aimee Walsh. Shortly after their marriage in 1949, Mary and Walter moved to Freelton where they raised their family before retiring to Dundas in 1996. In 2000, Mary was proud to receive her 40 year membership award from the Catholic Women`s League of Canada. Mary moved to Oxford Lodge retirement home in Guelph in 2003, where she lived happily for 4 years. The family extends sincere appreciation to the wonderful staff of Morriston Park Nursing Home for their loving care of Mom over the past 2 years.
Friends will be received by the family at the KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME,146 Mill St., N., Waterdown on Wednesday, January 27, from 9 am to 11 a.m. followed by Funeral Mass and Celebration of Mary's life at OUR LADY OF MT. CARMEL CHURCH, 79 Freelton Rd., Freelton on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. Interment to follow in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Following the interment at the cemetery, family and friends are invited to a reception at Marion Hall.
